This add-on can grant an other add-on access to the Docker socket.

About

This add-on is able to unprotect other add-ons, giving the targeted add-on access to the Docker socket/engine running HassIO.

WARNING: Use this add-on with extreme care! If you are not 100% sure what you are doing: PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS ADD-ON!

Installation

The installation of this add-on is pretty straightforward and not different in comparison to installing any other Hass.io add-on.

  1. Add our Hass.io add-ons repository to your Hass.io instance.
  2. Install the "Docker Enabler" add-on
  3. Specify the target add-on in the target option.
  4. Start the "Docker Enabler" add-on
  5. Check the logs of the "Docker Enabler" add-on to see if it succeeded.
  6. The add-on stops after it is done. It only needs to be run once per add-on that requires unlocking.

NOTE: Do not add this repository to Hass.io, please use: https://github.com/hassio-addons/repository.

Option: target

The name of the add-on to un-protect / give access to the Docker socket. Use the full name format <repo slug>_<addon slug>.

For example: a0d7b954_ssh

Changelog & Releases

This repository keeps a change log using GitHub's releases functionality. The format of the log is based on Keep a Changelog.

Releases are based on Semantic Versioning, and use the format of MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH. In a nutshell, the version will be incremented based on the following:

  • MAJOR: Incompatible or major changes.
  • MINOR: Backwards-compatible new features and enhancements.
  • PATCH: Backwards-compatible bugfixes and package updates.
