RetroBench Power Supply Unit

This project is a versatile bench power supply unit that can provide a range of DC outputs and 9VAC. The GX16-8 connector can power Commodore retrocomputers.

The power supply has been tested with:

  • Commodore VIC-20
  • Commodore 16
  • Commodore 64
  • Commodore 128
  • Commodore Amiga 500

Bench PSU outputs

Output voltages are:

  • 5VCC
  • 9VCC
  • 12VC
  • 9VAC - through GX16-8 connector
  • Variable CC output

3d printed parts

STL files can be printed using:

  • PLA filament
  • 0.1mm layer height
  • 15% infill
  • 4 walls

  • 1x Meanwell RT-65B power supply (link)
  • 1x Core transformer 220VAC to 9VAC (link)
  • 1x GX16-8 male & female connectors (link)
  • 4x red & black banana socket pairs (link
  • 1x Precision multiturn 10kOhm potentiometer (link)
  • 1x Miniature toggle switch single pole double throw (link)
  • 1x IEC 320 power plug socket 2.0mm AC-01-2, Copper Contact (link)
  • 3x M430 10A Digital Voltmeter Ammeter (link)
  • 1x MP1584EN Adjustable 3A DC-DC step down converter (link)
