Extension looks good, but I'm reluctant to install extensions that request access to all websites, primarily because of extension updates that have broken my trust in the past.

Would it be possible to request only medium.com permission by default and then use optional permissions at runtime for other domains?

Definitely -- thanks for bringing this up! My only concern would be slowing down the user the first time they visit a site, but I'd have to see it in action first to know how much it affects the experience.

This is a necessity, not because I don't trust this code now but because extensions auto-update and frequently get sold to people who I really do not want to have access to all of my web browsing.
