Shell Infrastructure Host process 100% CPU usage

Hi.

I installed gallery-dl to download a gallery from a hidden user on kemono.party.
Checking the Task Manager I noticed how a process called Shell Infrastructure Host was raising the CPU usage to 100% wavering from 0 to 100 and back to 0 all the time.

I have searched the internet for help and all it says is that this is abnormal behavior.
Any help or suggestions?

The "Shell Infrastructure Host" is a critical process in Windows. Alongside other processes, such as the Shell Experience Host, it's responsible for things like window transparency, the layout of the Start Menu, the desktop background slideshow, and several other graphical elements of the operating system

I fail to see how this is related to or caused by gallery-dl.

Cause this happened when I started downloading with gallery-dl. It's as simple as that.

Notice i used Windows PowerShell to run gallery-dl commands. Don't know if it's the correct way to do it, but the creator of the tool saying “I don't know how that can be related” without trying to understand it makes me suspicious.

I'm also using Windows (10) + Powershell + gallery-dl, and I cannot reproduce this.

sihost.exe is indeed a standard Windows component, and if I do a search for this I get many hits mentioning high CPU usage, but none are in any way related to Python, or PowerShell.

Most likely caused by some other program running in the background on your system.
