Checklist

  • I have updated to the latest available Home Assistant version.
  • I have cleared the cache of my browser.
  • I have tried a different browser to see if it is related to my browser.
  • I have tried reproducing the issue in safe mode to rule out problems with unsupported custom resources.

Describe the issue you are experiencing

I tried to enable an entity and failed a few times before I figured out what the issue is. I guess technically it is not broken, but very unintuitive.

Basically what happend is that I clicked the ENABLE button in the banner and then closed the dialog with the Update button. I used the Update button because that seems the only way to close the dialog. Delete button is disabled and I don't want to delete it anyway. Eventually I clicked outside the popup to close it and that worked and after that the entity became enabled.

I later noticed that there is also an Enable switch, when I use that it works as one would expect (flip switch, close with update).
The ENABLE option and the switch do not seem "linked" which seems the cause for my confusion.

Easy way out would be to remove the ENABLE button in the banner, not sure why it is there because there is also the switch. I did not notice the switch in the beginning since I first noticed the ENABLE button and did not look further since I thought I was done.

More clear flow to disable entities

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Click on a disabled entity
  2. Click cogwheel
  3. Click ENABLE in the banner at the top
  4. Click OK
  5. Leave the popup by pressing Update (since that seems the only way)

Also see video.
Note that in the video I don't wait the full 30 seconds, but I tried it later with waiting 30 seconds and after integration reload the entity was still disabled, I just did not record a new video.
