Description

When using Windows, nowadays we have 'Light' and 'Dark' mode options.
When using the 'Light' mode, the Espanso tray icon, which is pure white, is then difficult to see:

Motivation

To improve Espanso's ability to be recognized, for those with impaired vision.

Alternatives

It would be nice if we could choose an tray icon option ourselves, or that it could swap automatically to something else when in light mode. Alternatively, a custom icon would also be a potential solution. Though I quite like the Espanso icon, when I can see it!

Either way I think this would improve the user experience, for those with impaired vision.
Thanks for the consideration!

Have you tried building it? Or would you like it?

  • I'd be willing to contribute this feature to Espanso myself.

Note that, in documentation we only have an option to disable the icon entirely:
https://espanso.org/docs/configuration/options/#hiding-the-icon

Not to change the mode/color, etc.

I agree, it would be good to have alternatives.

In the meantime, this is a link to an icon file I posted to Discord, and a discussion about icons.
