Disabling WD in Win 10 Pro 21H2 is much easier (or should be) just download Policy Plus from majorgeeks, open the app, go to "Find", and type in Microsoft Defender, an option will pop up that says "turn off microsoft defender antivirus".

What do you mean by that? It did disable the antivirus?
The .reg files in this repository probably don't have any effect anymore on recent Windows 10 versions (and Windows 11). I haven't tested this on my end though, as I only use Windows occasionally.
I disabled the Windows Defender (I think) and I got the initial message as shown in the homepage of this repo.
But after restart I get neverending loading icon animation with message "Getting protection info..." (ran for hours).
Is this safe to ignore it? Or is it some process running on loop?
