Sorry, mistake in the docker-compose.yml files.
Please replace docker.io/library/linkace/linkace with docker.io/linkace/linkace in your docker-compose.yml file.

I’m not using 192.168.0.3. Is that hard-coded somewhere?

That is an internal docker IP. Nothing to worry about.

So, I deleted the container, the image, everything

Including the Docker volume for MySQL? Should be something like linkace_db. You can view them with docker volume ls.

Did you use any special characters in your MySQL password? If yes, please try to wrap it in quotes like DB_PASSWORD="dgU7/l.&3lDc1".

You may also try to add APP_DEBUG=true to the .env file and try again, it should extend the error output if possible.

I pruned all containers, images, and volumes so yes, I did delete the docker volume for MySQL. I did have special characters in my Donny Bahama password so I wrapped it in quotes and also enabled debug output. Here’s what I’m getting now:

You may try running php artisan key:generate inside the PHP container. That could solve the problem.

There's no php container. Only the main one and the database.

I have another container (maybe more than 1) running MySql/MariaDB. It’s probably using port 3306 so I tried 3307 but same error.

I also tried changing the Donny Bahama password to something with no special characters (and I removed the double quotes). Same result.

My best guess would be that somehow MySQL is not picking up its new password. Either the volume is not fully removed, or there's something with the .env file.
Could you share your docker-compose.yml file?

Nevermind; I finally got it working. I deleted everything and started from scratch, making 2 changes in the .env file (based on a docker-compose and .env posted by someone on Reddit) - 1) left API_KEY blank and 2) Removed all special characters from Donny Bahama password and didn’t wrap it in quotes. I still had to run php artisan key:generate but this time it worked.

I don’t understand why this works for everyone else yet I had such problems with it. I mean… docker?! Anyway, thanks for the help. I’m loving LinkAce!

Yes, sometimes even something that "simple" as Docker can become a huge mess.
